Incentives

The City of Mexia takes pride in offering a business-friendly environment. Mexia Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the City of Mexia work with businesses to provide both logistical and financial assistance in relocating to or remaining in Mexia. Business incentives packages are developed on a case-by- case basis through evaluation of factors such as the projected economic impact to the city, number of jobs created, estimated property and sales tax revenue to the city and other tangible and intangible benefits to the city and our residents.

Our “tool belt” for customizing an incentive package may include:

• Chapter 380 Agreement
• Sales Tax Phase-In

• MEDC Commercial Development Fund
• Freeport Tax Exemption
• Infrastructure Participation
• Development Permits & Fees Reimbursement
• Other Non-Cash Incentives
